Scent of a Woman

Scent of a Woman is one of the movies that helped me grow as an adult woman. This movie is about the interaction between a blind ex-soldier and a young man, and was
produced in 1992 and released in Japan in 1993. It is impressive to see the stubborn and foul-mouthed ex-soldier and the kind-hearted young man grow up together through their many experiences. There are two of my favorite scenes in the movie. The first is the scene where the blind ex-military man drinks Jack Daniels. I felt like a grown man and under the influence of this scene, I tried drinking it too, but I didn't think it tasted good. The second is Tango. I don't think it is well known now, but I think anyone who sees this movie will want to dance. There are many scenes that make me feel like an adult, so I think the whole film is inspiring. Al Pacino, who plays a blind ex-military officer, gives such an overwhelming performance that he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for this film, and I suspect that he is truly blind. In this movie we learned the word “integrity”. This word Japanese means "高潔”.Every single word that the ex-military gave in their speeches stuck with me. There are many things I still don't understand, but this film makes me feel a little more mature, so please watch it.

Green Book

The movie Green Book changed the value of friendship. The film is based on fact and is set in the American South in the 1960s.
The story follows the journey of Tony, an uneducated and violent Italian Caucasian, and Shirley, a gifted black pianist who is the complete opposite of Tony. At this time in the U.S., racism was fierce and there were many problems, but as they shared many hours together, they developed a friendship that transcended race. The "Green Book" is a guidebook for the use of facilities that was produced for traveling blacks in the 1950s and 1960s during a time of intense racial discrimination. What particularly resonated with me in
this film is the scene where Tony is away from home for two months and writes a letter to his wife. Ignorant Tony had no concept of writing a letter, so he could only write in words like a child. Shirley teaches him various words. They are so good letters that I wish I could have letters written by Shirley.

Buffalo' 66

The first movie that changed my life is Buffalo 66. This is the first film directed by Vincent Gallo, and was released in Japan in 1999.
It is a love story with music and the screenplay was written by Gallo. The story begins with the main character's release from prison. He spends his life pretending to his parents that he works for the government and lying to them. He does not even have a girlfriend, but he tells a series of lies, such as "I'm going to bring home a wife". To make the lie true, he kidnaps a woman who was in ballet class. He is so helplessly pathetic. However, the woman stays by his side and plays the role of his wife. He treats her badly, but she stays by his side the whole time. I watched this movie while getting angry at the main character many times, but the images and music are good enough to leave a lasting impression. I especially loved the picture of the two of them taken at the photo shop. What this movie changed for me is my sense of the value of love.
This movie was recommended to me by my high school teacher. He said "it's a man's romance", but I never understood it. This film taught me the difference between the male and female perspective.
